Thialf is top-class sport, pushing boundaries, ambition, atmosphere, team spirit and experience. That is what Thialf wants people to experience, during competitions and with business events. Whether it's a hundred people or a few thousand. It's all there at once: cold, sound, voices, smell, light and speed. At first, you sit behind a glass wall talking undisturbed and only your eyes perceive skaters; but as soon as you step into the hall, your experience is complete.
Besides skating and top-class sports facilities, Thialf offers a special experience for companies. Have you ever thought of a company presentation with a snack and a drink in one of Thialf's hospitality areas? Or a meeting, followed by a skating clinic by a well-known skater and afterwards a stew buffet in one of Thialf's attractive rooms? Thialf also has its own Business Club where members can attend all events in Thialf and have permanent seats.
A business event in the Skating Heart of the World: that's an experience in itself! Not for nothing was Thialf voted 'Best Event Venue' and 'Best Meeting Venue' in the North Region in 2017 and 2020.
We have several hospitality and multifunctional rooms that can easily be made larger or smaller with sliding walls. You can combine your event with an unforgettable clinic on ice. It gives the participants a real energy boost and does wonders for the group dynamic. Prefer not to go on the ice? A backstage tour with a look at the engine rooms and jury rooms is also possible, or another off-ice activity (in cooperation with Sportstad Heerenveen, among others).
Thialf received the largest solar roof on a sports stadium in the Netherlands in 2016. On the roof of the Skating Heart of the World will be over 5,000 solar panels. This makes Thialf not only the fastest lowland rink in the world but also the most sustainable. In addition, our hospitable banquet staff provide customised sustainable catering. We buy the various products as much as possible from local and regional suppliers.
